018- Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
019- Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
020- But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
021- And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
022- Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
023- Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
024- Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
025- And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

001- In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
002- And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
003- For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
004- And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
005- Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
006- And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
007- But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
008- Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
009- And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
010- And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
011- I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
012- Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
013- Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
014- But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
015- And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
016- And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
017- And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
3 40 Matthew 012 Holy Ghost
001- At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
002- But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
003- But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
004- How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
005- Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
006- But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
007- But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
008- For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
009- And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
010- And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
011- And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
012- How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
013- Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
014- Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
015- But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
016- And charged them that they should not make him known:
017- That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
018- Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
019- He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
020- A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
021- And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
022- Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
023- And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
024- But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
025- And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
026- And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
027- And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
028- But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
029- Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
030- He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
031- Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
032- And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
033- Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
034- O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
035- A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
036- But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
037- For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
038- Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
039- But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
040- For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
041- The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
042- The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
043- When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
044- Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
045- Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
046- While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
047- Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
048- But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
049- And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
050- For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
4 40 Matthew 028 Holy Ghost
001- In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
002- And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
003- His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
004- And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
005- And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
006- He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
007- And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
008- And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
009- And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
010- Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
011- Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
012- And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
013- Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
014- And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
015- So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
016- Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
017- And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
018- And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
019- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
020- Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
5 41 Mark 001 Holy Ghost
001- The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
002- As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
003- The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
004- John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
005- And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
006- And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
007- And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
008- I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
009- And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
010- And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
011- And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
012- And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.
013- And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
014- Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
015- And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
016- Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
017- And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
018- And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
019- And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
020- And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
021- And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
022- And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
023- And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
024- Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
025- And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
026- And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
027- And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
028- And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
029- And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
030- But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
031- And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
032- And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
033- And all the city was gathered together at the door.
034- And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
035- And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
036- And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
037- And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.
038- And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
039- And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
040- And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
041- And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
042- And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
043- And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
044- And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
045- But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

001- And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
002- And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
003- And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
004- And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
005- And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
006- And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
007- But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
008- And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
009- And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
010- For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.
011- And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
012- And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.
013- And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
014- And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
015- And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
016- And Simon he surnamed Peter;
017- And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
018- And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
019- And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
020- And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
021- And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.
022- And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
023- And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
024- And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
025- And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
026- And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
027- No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
028- Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
029- But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
030- Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
031- There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
032- And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
033- And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
034- And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
035- For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
7 41 Mark 012 Holy Ghost
001- And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
002- And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
003- And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
004- And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
005- And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
006- Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
007- But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's.
008- And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
009- What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
010- And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
011- This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
012- And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
013- And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
014- And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
015- Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
016- And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
017- And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
018- Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
019- Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
020- Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
021- And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
022- And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
023- In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
024- And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
025- For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
026- And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
027- He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
028- And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
029- And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
030- And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
031- And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
032- And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
033- And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
034- And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
035- And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?
036- For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
037- David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
038- And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
039- And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
040- Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
041- And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
042- And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
043- And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
044- For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
8 41 Mark 013 Holy Ghost
001- And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
002- And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
003- And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
004- Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
005- And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
006- For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
007- And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
008- For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
009- But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
010- And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
011- But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
012- Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
013- And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
014- But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
015- And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
016- And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
017- But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
018- And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
019- For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
020- And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
021- And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
022- For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
023- But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
024- But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
025- And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
026- And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

028- Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

001- Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
002- Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
003- It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
004- That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
005- THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
006- And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
007- And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
008- And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,
009- According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
010- And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
011- And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
012- And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
013- But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
014- And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
015- For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
016- And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
017- And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
018- And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
019- And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
020- And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
021- And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
022- And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
023- And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
024- And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
025- Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
026- And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
027- To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
028- And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
029- And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
030- And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
031- And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
032- He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
033- And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
034- Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
035- And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

039- And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
040- And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
041- And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
042- And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
043- And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
044- For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
045- And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
046- And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
047- And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
048- For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
049- For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
050- And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
051- He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
052- He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
053- He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
054- He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
055- As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
056- And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
057- Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
058- And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
059- And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
060- And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
061- And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
062- And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
063- And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
064- And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.
065- And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
066- And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
067- And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
068- Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
069- And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
070- As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
071- That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
072- To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
073- The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
074- That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
075- In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
076- And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
077- To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
078- Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
079- To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

003- And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
004- And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
005- To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
006- And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
007- And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
008- And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
009- And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

036- And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
037- And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
038- And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
039- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
040- And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
041- Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
042- And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
043- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
044- But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
045- And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
046- And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
047- And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
048- And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

024- And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
025- But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
026- But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
027- And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
028- And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
029- And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
030- But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

033- And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

040- Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
041- And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
042- And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
043- And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

007- But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
008- Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
009- But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
010- And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
011- And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
012- For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
013- And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
014- And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
015- And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
016- And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
017- And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
018- And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
019- And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
020- But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
021- So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
022- And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
023- The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
024- Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
025- And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
026- If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
027- Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
028- If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
029- And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
030- For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
031- But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
032- Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
033- Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
034- For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
035- Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
036- And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
037- Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
038- And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
039- And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
040- Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

042- And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

044- Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
045- But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
046- The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
047- And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
048- But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
049- I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
050- But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
051- Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
052- For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
053- The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
054- And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
055- And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
056- Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
057- Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
058- When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
059- I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

001- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
002- The same was in the beginning with God.
003- All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
004- In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
005- And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
006- There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
007- The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
008- He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
009- That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
010- He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
011- He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
012- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
013- Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

025- And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
026- John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
027- He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
028- These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
029- The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
030- This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
031- And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
032- And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
033- And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
034- And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
035- Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

037- And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

041- He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
042- And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
043- The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

001- After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

015- And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
016- Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
017- If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
018- He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
019- Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
020- The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
021- Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
022- Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
023- If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
024- Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
025- Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
026- But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
027- Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

001- The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
002- Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the LORD out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
003- Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
004- So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
005- And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

014- And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

016- Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
017- For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

019- And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

006- Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
007- And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
008- And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
009- Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
010- Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
011- Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
012- And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
013- Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
014- But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
015- For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
016- But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
017- And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
018- And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
019- And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
020- The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
021- And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
022- Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
023- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
024- Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
025- For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
026- Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
027- Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
028- Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
029- Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
030- Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
031- He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
032- This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
033- Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
034- For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
035- Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
036- Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
037- Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
038- Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
039- For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
040- And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
041- Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
042- And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
043- And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
044- And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
045- And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
046- And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
047- Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
20 44 Acts 004 Holy Ghost
001- And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
002- Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
003- And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
004- Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
005- And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
006- And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
007- And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
008- Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
009- If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
010- Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
011- This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
012- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
013- Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
014- And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
015- But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
016- Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
017- But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
018- And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
019- But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
020- For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
021- So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
022- For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
023- And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
024- And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
025- Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
026- The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
027- For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
028- For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

032- And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

034- Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

21 44 Acts 005 Holy Ghost
001- But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
002- And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
003- But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
004- Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
005- And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
006- And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
007- And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
008- And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
009- Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
010- Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
011- And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
012- And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
013- And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
014- And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
015- Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
016- There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
017- Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
018- And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
019- But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
020- Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
021- And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
022- But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,
023- Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
024- Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
025- Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
026- Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
027- And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
028- Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
029- Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
030- The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
031- Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
032- And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
033- When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
034- Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
035- And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
036- For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
037- After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
038- And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
039- But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
040- And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
041- And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
042- And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
22 44 Acts 006 Holy Ghost
001- And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
002- Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
003- Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
004- But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
005- And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
006- Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
007- And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
008- And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
009- Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
010- And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
011- Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.
012- And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
013- And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
014- For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
015- And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
23 44 Acts 007 Holy Ghost
001- Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
002- And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
003- And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.
004- Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
005- And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.
006- And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.
007- And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
008- And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
009- And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
010- And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
011- Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.
012- But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
013- And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.
014- Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.
015- So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
016- And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
017- But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
018- Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
019- The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
020- In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:
021- And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
022- And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
023- And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
024- And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
025- For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
026- And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
027- But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
028- Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
029- Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
030- And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
031- When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the LORD came unto him,
032- Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
033- Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
034- I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
035- This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
036- He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
037- This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
038- This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
039- To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
040- Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
041- And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
042- Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
043- Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
044- Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
045- Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
046- Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
047- But Solomon built him an house.
048- Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
049- Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
050- Hath not my hand made all these things?
051- Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
052- Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
053- Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
054- When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
055- But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
056- And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
057- Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
058- And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
059- And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
060- And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
24 44 Acts 008 Holy Ghost
001- And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
002- And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
003- As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
004- Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
005- Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
006- And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
007- For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
008- And there was great joy in that city.
009- But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
010- To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
011- And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
012- But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
013- Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
014- Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
015- Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
016- (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
017- Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
018- And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
019- Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
020- But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
021- Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
022- Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
023- For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
024- Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
025- And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
026- And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
027- And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
028- Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
029- Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
030- And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
031- And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
032- The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
033- In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
034- And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
035- Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
036- And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
037- And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
038- And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
039- And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

25 44 Acts 009 Holy Ghost
001- And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
002- And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
003- And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
004- And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
005- And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
006- And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
007- And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
008- And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
009- And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
010- And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
011- And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
012- And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
013- Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
014- And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
015- But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
016- For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
017- And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
018- And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
019- And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
020- And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
021- But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
022- But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
023- And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
024- But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
025- Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
026- And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
027- But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
028- And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
029- And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
030- Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
031- Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
032- And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
033- And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
034- And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
035- And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
036- Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
037- And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
038- And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
039- Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
040- But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
041- And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
042- And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
043- And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
26 44 Acts 010 Holy Ghost
001- There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
002- A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
003- He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
004- And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
005- And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
006- He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
007- And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
008- And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
009- On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
010- And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
011- And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
012- Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
013- And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
014- But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
015- And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
016- This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
017- Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
018- And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
019- While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
020- Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
021- Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
022- And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
023- Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
024- And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
025- And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
026- But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
027- And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
028- And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
029- Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
030- And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
031- And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
032- Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
033- Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
034- Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
035- But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
036- The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
037- That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
038- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
039- And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
040- Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
041- Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
042- And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
043- To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
044- While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
045- And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
046- For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
047- Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
048- And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
27 44 Acts 011 Holy Ghost
001- And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
002- And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
003- Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
004- But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
005- I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
006- Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
007- And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
008- But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
009- But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
010- And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
011- And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.
012- And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:
013- And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
014- Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
015- And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
016- Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
017- Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
018- When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
019- Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
020- And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.
021- And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
022- Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
023- Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
024- For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
025- Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
026- And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
027- And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
028- And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
029- Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
030- Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

001- Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
002- As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
003- And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
004- So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
005- And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
006- And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
007- Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
008- But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
009- Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him.
010- And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
011- And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
012- Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
013- Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
014- But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
015- And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
016- Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
017- The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
018- And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
019- And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
020- And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
021- And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
022- And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
023- Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
024- When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
025- And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
026- Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
027- For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
028- And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
029- And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
030- But God raised him from the dead:
031- And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
032- And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
033- God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
034- And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
035- Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
036- For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
037- But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
038- Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
039- And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
040- Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
041- Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
042- And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
043- Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
044- And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
045- But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
046- Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
047- For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
048- And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
049- And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
050- But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
051- But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
052- And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
29 44 Acts 015 Holy Ghost
001- And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
002- When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
003- And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
004- And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
005- But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
006- And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
007- And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
008- And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
009- And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
010- Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
011- But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
012- Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
013- And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
014- Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
015- And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
016- After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
017- That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
018- Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
019- Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
020- But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
021- For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
022- Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
023- And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.
024- Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
025- It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
026- Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
027- We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
028- For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
029- That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
030- So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
031- Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
032- And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
033- And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
034- Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
035- Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
036- And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the LORD, and see how they do.
037- And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
038- But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
039- And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
040- And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
041- And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
30 44 Acts 016 Holy Ghost
001- Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
002- Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
003- Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
004- And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
005- And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
006- Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
007- After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
008- And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
009- And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
010- And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
011- Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
012- And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
013- And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
014- And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
015- And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
016- And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
017- The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
018- And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
019- And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
020- And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
021- And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
022- And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
023- And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
024- Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
025- And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
026- And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
027- And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
028- But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
029- Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
030- And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
031- And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
032- And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
033- And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
034- And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
035- And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
036- And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
037- But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
038- And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
039- And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
040- And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
31 44 Acts 019 Holy Ghost
001- And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
002- He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
003- And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
004- Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
005- When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
006- And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
007- And all the men were about twelve.
008- And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
009- But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
010- And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
011- And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
012- So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
013- Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
014- And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
015- And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
016- And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
017- And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
018- And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
019- Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
020- So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
021- After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
022- So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.
023- And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
024- For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
025- Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
026- Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
027- So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
028- And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
029- And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.
030- And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.
031- And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.
032- Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.
033- And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.
034- But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
035- And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?
036- Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.
037- For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.
038- Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
039- But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.
040- For we are in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.
041- And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
32 44 Acts 020 Holy Ghost
001- And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.
002- And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,
003- And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
004- And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.
005- These going before tarried for us at Troas.
006- And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
007- And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
008- And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
009- And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
010- And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
011- When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
012- And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
013- And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.
014- And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
015- And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
016- For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
017- And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
018- And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
019- Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
020- And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
021- Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
022- And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
023- Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
024- But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
025- And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
026- Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
027- For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
028- Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
029- For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
030- Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
031- Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
032- And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
033- I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
034- Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
035- I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
036- And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
037- And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,
038- Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
33 44 Acts 021 Holy Ghost
001- And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
002- And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
003- Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
004- And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
005- And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
006- And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
007- And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
008- And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
009- And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
010- And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
011- And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
012- And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
013- Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
014- And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
015- And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
016- There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
017- And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
018- And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
019- And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
020- And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
021- And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
022- What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
023- Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
024- Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
025- As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
026- Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
027- And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
028- Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
029- (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
030- And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
031- And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
032- Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
033- Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
034- And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
035- And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
036- For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
037- And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
038- Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
039- But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
040- And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

001- And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
002- And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
003- And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
004- And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
005- And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
006- Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
007- In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
008- And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
009- So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
010- Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
011- And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
012- And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
013- And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
014- Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
015- And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
016- And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
017- And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
018- Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.
019- But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.
020- For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
021- And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
022- But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
023- And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
024- And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
025- And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
026- Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
027- For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
028- Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
029- And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
030- And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
031- Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
35 45 Romans 005 Holy Ghost
001- Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
002- By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
003- And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
004- And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
005- And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
006- For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
007- For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
008- But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
009- Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
010- For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
011- And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
012- Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
013- (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
014- Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
015- But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
016- And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
017- For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
018- Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
019- For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
020- Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
021- That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

001- I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
002- That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
003- For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
004- Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
005- Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
006- Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
007- Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
008- That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
009- For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
010- And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
011- (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
012- It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
013- As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
014- What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
015- For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
016- So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
017- For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
018- Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
019- Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
020- Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
021- Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
022- What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
023- And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
024- Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
025- As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
026- And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
027- Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
028- For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
029- And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
030- What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

006- If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
007- For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
008- But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
009- But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
010- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
011- And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
012- That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
013- For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
014- Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
015- And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
016- For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
017- Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
018- That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
019- Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
020- Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

001- Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
002- For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
003- And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
004- Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
005- And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
006- Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
007- But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
008- The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
009- Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
010- Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
011- But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
012- Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
013- For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
014- How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
015- And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
016- For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
017- For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
018- Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
019- For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
020- Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
021- Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
022- And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
023- It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
024- For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
025- Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
026- For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
027- And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
028- So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

001- For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
002- For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
003- But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
004- For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
005- Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
006- In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
007- Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
008- Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
009- Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
010- By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
011- And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
012- But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
013- From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
014- For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
015- Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
016- This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
017- And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
018- Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
019- Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
020- By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
021- And having an high priest over the house of God;
022- Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
023- Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
024- And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
025- Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
026- For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
027- But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
028- He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
029- Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
030- For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
031- It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
032- But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
033- Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
034- For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
035- Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
036- For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
037- For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
038- Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

015- But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
016- Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
017- And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
018- Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

012- Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
013- Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
014- Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
015- Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
016- For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
017- For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
018- And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
019- We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
020- Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

009- If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
010- He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
011- And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
012- He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

014- And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

016- If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
017- All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
018- We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
019- And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
020- And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

004- For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
005- I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
006- And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
007- Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
008- Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
009- Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
010- But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
011- Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
012- These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
013- Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
014- And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
015- To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
016- These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
017- But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
018- How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
019- These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
020- But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
021- Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
022- And of some have compassion, making a difference:
023- And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
024- Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
025- To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
